Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai to advance down

Sony's CEO Kazuo Hirai is venturing down and giving control over to fund boss Kenichiro Yoshida.

Mr Yoshida, Sony's CFO, is to assume control of the Japanese hardware monster from 1 April.

Mr Hirai will stay at Sony as administrator.

Mr Yoshida and Mr Hirai have been instrumental in turning Sony around to center around cell phone picture sensors.

Under their endeavors, the Japanese electronic mammoth sold off its battling PC business and propelled the effective PlayStation 4 computer game comfort, which has sold more than 60 million units to date.

Sony said its benefits quadrupled in the three months to December.

The Japanese gadgets monster revealed a record benefit of 351 billion yen ($3.2bn, £2.5bn) for the quarter, contrasted and 92.4 billion yen in a similar period the prior year.

"As the organization approaches a urgent point, when we will leave on another mid-go design, I view this as the perfect time to pass the twirly doo of initiative to new administration, for the eventual fate of Sony and furthermore for myself to set out on another section in my life," said Mr Hirai in an announcement.

Mr Yoshida said he needed to expand on the administration establishment made under Mr Hirai's authority to "enhance Sony's aggressiveness as a worldwide organization".
